Over at Dawud's (Dawud Miracle @ dmiracle.com) - during a coffee-break - the following question was asked: Is Blogging the Next Starbucks?
After that conversation I suddenly realised something else: the Blogoshpere is not just the 'Virtual' Starbucks, filled with coffee corners around every click. It's also an Art-Gallery where bloggers Paint with Words!
In an Art-Gallery you sometimes just stand still and admire someone's work. Sometimes you comment on the work.
And on some occasions (not even rare occasions) you are quieted by the beauty of the picture painted with words.
We all have our own favourite 'word-paintings', the lastest one I admired was:
When I write for print, once it’s published, the event is over.
When I blog, once it’s published, it’s often the beginning. A conversation can start.

I'm with Liz...blog and the conversation can begin - and go on for a long time. I have a couple of posts that are approaching a month old that still have conversations going on. So what Starbucks bring us (other than consistent coffee)? It brought us a place to have conversations.

Hi Dawud
And as with some conversations at Starbucks (or anywhere else for that matter) some are real jewels and gems. But with blog 'paintings of words' they are there to stay - forever - and to be re-admired time after time. (Try that with the 'good-old' grey matter, having to remember what whom said exactly ;-))
